Blog 8: Who needs Vitamin C?

Who needs Vitamin C? 

Adult men need 90 mg and women need 75 mg a day. We get this vitamin from fresh fruits and vegetables. This vitamin is destroyed by cooking so cooked vegetables and fruit may NOT have much Vitamin C.

Vitamin C helps with your immune system and supports collagen production, so it helps your joints and tendons. 

However, taking excessive amounts eg over 2000 mg daily increases the risk of problems like kidney stones, abdominal pain, diarrhea, gout, and anemia.
